During the global pandemic, ominous narratives have become increasingly commonplace. The surplus of negative stories that span over various topics may cause an intensification of anxiety. As believers, we can remain untroubled during disconcerting times (John 14:1). Solace is within reach when we focus on Jesus and believe that He will give us perfect peace.
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. – Philippians 4:6
We need to surrender our concerns to the Lord in prayer, especially when issues become bothersome to our mind and anxiety steps in.
You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. – Isaiah 26:3
As we continue to trust the Lord and keep our thoughts centered on Him, He will give us a wholesome peace, which may be precisely what we need!
Anxiety weighs down the heart, but a kind word cheers it up. – Proverbs 12:25 (NKJV)
Anxiety can trouble the heart, but a good word can help to relieve the stress. The Lord can use us to give an encouraging word to those who feel downcast.
