It is Easter, and people are celebrating this holiday around the globe with a variety of fun activities. During this period, we must not lose sight of the true meaning of Easter: the sacrifice that Jesus made for the world.
What does Easter Represent?
Easter does not only represent the death and resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, but also God’s love for us, enacted through His sacrificing His only begotten son, so that whosever believes and confesses Jesus is Lord can obtain eternal life (Romans 10:9).
But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
– ROMANS 5:8 (ESV)
Jesus’ Obedience to the Father’s Will
Easter also represents Jesus’ obedience to God. Though He wanted to elude death when He asked God to allow this cup to pass from Him (Matthew 26:39). His ultimate decision was to do the Father’s will and not his own.
A Time of Remembrance
Therefore, we must take this time to remember and revere God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit for the unfailing love for all humankind.
